Aims and Objectives

 

Capernaum Limited aims to provide support to vulnerable young people in ages between 16 and 25 years with behaviours that challenge or Emotional Behavioural Disorders, mild learning disabilities, the homeless, asylum seekers or care leavers. We provide our service in supported living environment 24/7 for our clients’ convenience in ways they find most agreeable.

Our principles

We have sound principles for the way we run our service. Central to these is our belief that the rights of service users are paramount, a statement of their rights to privacy, dignity, independence, security, civil rights, choice and fulfilment.

We aim to provide support in ways which have positive outcomes for service users and promote their active participation.

Our objectives

  1. To ensure that we are fit for our purpose. We examine our operations constantly to ensure that we are successfully achieving our stated aims. We encourage and welcome feedback from local authorities, our service users and their friends and relatives.

  2. To work for the comprehensive welfare of our service users. We aim to provide for each service user a package of support that contributes to his or her overall personal and healthcare needs and preferences. We will co-operate with other services and professionals to help to maximize each service user’s independence and to ensure as fully as possible the services user’s maximum participation in the community.

  3. To meet assessed needs. Before we provide services, we ensure that a potential service user’s needs and preferences are thoroughly assessed within a risk management approach. We aim to ensure that the support the agency provides meets the assessed needs of each service user, that needs are re-assessed as frequently as necessary and that the support provided has the flexibility to respond to changing needs or requirements.

  4. To provide quality services. We are whole-heartedly committed to providing top quality services and to continuous improvement in the level of the support we offer, we value your feedback.

  5. To manage and implement a formal programme of staff recruitment, training and personal development to enable service user’s health and support needs to be met by safe and competent support workers.

  6. To ensure that each service user’s needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race, ethnic origin, sexuality and sexual orientation, political affiliation, disabilities or impairments.
